Compensation
$50 per hour
Teaching 2 classes - $5,550
Teaching 3 classes - $8,350
Summary: Helps students learn mathematics content focusing on Algebra and Geometry. Help students develop study skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible men and women who live in a global society.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Other duties may be assigned
- Teaches District approved program/curriculum
- Differentiate instruction and accommodates for the needs of all learners
- Plans a course of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
- Sets clear classroom expectations for academics and behavior
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curricular goals; establishes clear purpose and expectations for all lessons, units, and projects and communicates these expectations to students
- Assesses and evaluates students’ academic achievement on a weekly basis and promotes students as they accomplish their learning goals; keeps accurate records of student achievement; prepares reports of progress for students and parents.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
- Is available to students and parents for education related purposes
- Performs other duties as assigned by the summer school administrator
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
- Employee shall properly implement Board Policy 3122, Policy 4122, and Policy 2260 on non-discrimination and shall comply with Federal and State laws and regulations, particularly Part 1 104 of Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (34 CFR) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Supervises classroom and students
Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all job duties in a satisfactory manner. Education and/or Experience:
B.S. in Education, M. Ed. in Education preferred
Must have a valid teaching certificate in the State of Michigan
Must be Highly Qualified in the subject being taught
Teaching experience preferred
Language Skills:
Candidate must be able to communicate effectively in a variety of media with Administrators, Teachers, Students, Parents, and any other member of the organization.
Reasoning Ability:
Candidate must be able to use higher order reasoning skills in order to solve problems and make decisions about increasing the achievement of students in the summer school program.
